The Great Frog

The Great Frog, one of the best jewellery shops in London and has been for over 30 years. Even though relatively gothic in design the skill and craftsmanship is unbelievable. We often go there just to browse and get annoyed at the fact that we never have any money to get anything.

Found on Ganton Street (just off Carnaby Street) The Great Frog offers so much in the way of detailed silver and gold jewellery. The Great Frog are the producers of the original ‘SKULL’ ring, as worn by Johnny Depp, Slash and Keith Richards. They are often leading the way in hand crafted jewellery, truly the best.

Aqua By Aqua

Aqua By Aqua is a new shop opened in Soho and features a great collection of simplistic yet effective designs.

We loved this strawberry t-shirt, simple in its repetitive design which gives it a bold yet playful look.

Loving the random color dots. although it was a bit to revealing due to the fabric being to thin.

Now this looks like (red) denim it feels like (red) denim but its cotton, what a trick.

Logo Final Draft + Other Design

This is the final design for our logo. We felt the design needed to be re-fined, and have a more complete look to it. We all hope you enjoy it.
- Drawn by Joseph Emmett.

While creating the final copy of the logo, we broke out into a brainstorm and we fell in love with this idea, although it will not be our logo we thought it will defiantly earn a place on a piece of clothing.

Maharishi

Whilst walking down Great Pulteney Street, we stumbled across Maharishi, a company we had heard of before. We entered not knowing what to expect.
From outside in.

Maharishi came about in 1994 by Hardy Blechman. Maharishi has the goal of a more natural and beneficial approach to the environment while encompassing fashion, using the incredibly lucrative material of hemp and other natural fibres.
Some Sweet throw cushions.
They are also looking to expanding into recycling of military and workwear, always in a quality and style that would last the test of time.
Army apparel
Workmen's clothes converted into designer pieces.
The shop spans over two floors, with a great deal of space, but the really cool stuff is hidden away downstairs.
The shop even has an old motorbike.
By far the coolest item in store.
The shop also has a huge amount of art in it, from artist like Neckface and even their own work, made from recycled material.

A Trip To Borough Market

Early Saturday morning the members of wolf and coffee headed for Borough market.
Tower Bridge, almost at Borough market
Even though we are an apparel based company we are all deeply interested in good food and the art of cooking. There are so many things to look at and take inspiration from with fashion and a place that is fun to look at is food, the colours, textures and shapes are all so thought provoking for this company, and we do not like to close doors... more embrace everything.

The variety of product on show was breathtaking. From exotic meats such as ostrich, crocodile and zebra to other things such as tender cactus, Thai chicken, seafood infused green curry and thick fig flavoured vinegar. All brilliantly sourced and grown.

Celebrating

Although its all work at Wolf And Coffee Co. we thought we should celebrate one month being up, over 1000 views and 20 members. What better way then with cheap Prosecco and even cheaper cigars?
Thanks everyone for the support and support to come. We will be  releasing  the first designs in print on real, touchable, product soon.

The Rum Diary and Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thompson is in my eyes one of the best writers (along with Kerouac and Wolfe) of all.

The man himself

Having already read the book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and watched the film under the same name, I was highly anticipating the release of another attempt to capture Thompson's raw brutality via film. "The Rum Diary" I found was very different and more paced but it seemed to peak as where "Fear and Loathing" was a peak in itself (which i think was the idea).

modern day cover

The Film looks great according to its ad. It stars Johnny Depp as Paul Kemp and Amber Heard as Chenault. Watch the trailer.

Looks odd now but give it a chance.

The Hundreds Ties to London

The Hundreds is slowly seeping into the UK, although I still prefer to get it from the country of origin, the authentic experience. The actual Hundreds stores are far superior to any department store. See for yourself...
San Francisco

New York
But now more close to home, Size? has started to their clothing. Such as t-shirts, jumpers and one hat, poor I know, I asked in store about footwear and the simpleton behind the counter did not know that The Hundreds did shoe ware, me standing their in a pair of Hundreds shoes.
The other more creditable source for footwear is Offspring with limited sizing and stock, but Hundreds none the less.

The Story of the Nike Mags 2015

The first "Back to the Future" film was released in 1985 they proceeded to make two sequels, ending in 1990. In the second film a shoe was depicted that captured the imagination of a generation. A Nike shoe from the year 2015, the shoe had the ability to tie its own laces.

Back to the Future II (wearing the shoes)

The shoes in the film:

This year Nike has looked into the future to make the authentic shoe from the film, they have made only but 1500 pairs. Wolf & Coffee has been watching them sell off eBay http://nikemag.ebay.com/shoes they have all gone now but the money raised was astounding, all for Michael J. Fox's charity to help find a cure for his Parkinson. With the First pair selling to Tinie Tempah for more then $33,000 and most of the other pairs selling for $3000 all the way to $8000, on top of that Google promises to match all the money raised 100%.

What a way to add to the legacy.

Supreme-London

On the 22nd of September supreme opened their doors to Londoners, locating themselves on Peter St. in the heart of Soho. Getting up at 8 and going straight to the shop we did not expect the masses.

We got there at 9 am and this was what we arrived to. It took us 2 hours get round the corner. Then another 5 to actually get in the shop.

The anticipation was a killer.

We walked out the shop with one of these and the biggest smile you'll ever see, like a crazed child in a sweet shop.

A Walk Down Jermyn Street

Another quest for inspiration, we find ourselves strolling down Jermyn St.
The bottom left were THE best cuffs on the street. Fun pair of trunks too.

Day Out

We started the day in Soho and Berwick Street; this was supposedly the place to go for fabrics. After scanning and browsing many different shop which all seemed to be a bit disappointing, we found ourselves in Misan Fabrics. The shop had an amazing selection of anything you would have wanted, from lace to tweed.

We gathered our heads and gathered some samples. The paisley (bottom right) was one of our favourites. From straight on it looked like a black velvet, but from the side the pattern bounced out and revealed itself. It shouted smoking jacket.

After all that we walked out of Soho and down Piccadilly. St. James Church sometimes has a market which we decided to check out. As soon as we walked in there was this (above) an old stamp stall which inspired us all.

A few more potential ideas on our clothing line, simple designs but very effective.

Pink and white barber jacket

Another fine look at a well made piece of tailoring that shows a path that wolf & coffee.co would like to explore.
